About the event

Mat supervisors play a critical role in ensuring the integrity, safety, and professionalism of judo competition. Their responsibilities extend beyond rule consistency and match oversight to include referee development, conflict resolution, and effective use of competition technology such as the CARE system.
For the first time, this seminar urges coaches with IJF Academy Certification or significant international experience to step into the mat supervisor role and learn how to lead match adjudication at a higher level.
This seminar provides referees and aspiring mat supervisors with a clear, practical understanding of the role - from pre-competition preparation through post-competition evaluation. Participants will learn how to manage referee rotations, assess match actions in real time and through video review, apply rules consistently under pressure, and communicate decisions with confidence and professionalism.
